Pro-Week at Camp Bonaventure – Only 4 spots left!

 

Camp Bonaventure is pleased to host a very Special week of Spey-Casting, Fly-Tying and Rod Building from September 21st to 28th, 2014. Spend a week with some of the biggest names in the sport.

Refine your casting skills on single and double handed rods with renowned casting instructor’s Topher Browne and Adrienne Comeau.  Seven days of professionally guided salmon fishing and instruction on the “gin clear” Bonaventure River with Topher and Adrienne complement this wonderful week.

Enhance your fly-tying skills with world famous fly-tyer Davie McPhail and the US Master Steve Silverio. One on one fly- tying with Davie and Steve, an experience that very few have enjoyed.

Learn the art of rod building from master rod builder and designer Geoff Pieroway, owner of the Pieroway rod company.  Geoff has developed and produced some of the finest single and double handed fly-rods in the industry.

Pro-week is limited to 8 anglers and is open for beginners to advanced level casters, fly-tyers and rod builders. This is a full week of guided salmon fishing at the famous Camp Bonaventure .  Tuition covers all instruction, lodging, meals, fishing and guides.

The Instructors 

A former professional Atlantic salmon fishing guide, Topher Browne has fished for Atlantic salmon in Canada, Iceland, Scotland, Norway and Russia. As a casting instructor he is considered among of the world’s best. The Author of “ Atlantic Salmon Magic” Topher also co-wrote and co-produced the Spey-casting DVD, Spey to Z . Trained and mentored in fly tying by the late Warren Duncan , Topher’s superb flies appear in various magazines and books, including his newest book, 100 Best Flies for Atlantic Salmon.  He lives in Portland, Maine

While steelhead hold a special place in her heart, Adrienne Comeau just loves casting a fly.  An expert with both single and double handed rods, she is recognized as one of the top casters in North America. A professional guide on the Bow River during the summer, Adrienne works for Fly Fusion Magazine and the International fly-Fishing Film Festival in the off season. She is prostaff for G. Loomis Canada, Hatch reels and Fish-Bum Outfitters. An accomplished author her articles and photos have appeared in several fly-fishing publications.

In the town of Ayr, located in Southwest Scotland resides Davie McPhail, undoubtedly the world’s most recognized fly- tyer.  Often described as the internet giant, he has posted hundreds of instructional fly-tying videos.  Davie is one of the world’s greatest fly-tiers and considered a true master craftsman of the art.  He’s an extremely versatile tier and designer, from the tiniest trout flies to the most complex classic Atlantic salmon patterns.  Spending a week with Davie is a once in a life time experience.

 A member of the Regal Vise Company’s development team and US pro member for Partridge of Redditch, Steve Silverio is one of the most recognized and respected fly-tyers in North America. He has developed proven patterns for Atlantic salmon for all water conditions, combining classic dressings with modern concepts.  His originality and creativity combined with his unmatched skills at the vise make Steve, truly one of the best.  

 A rod builder since his early teens Geoff Pieroway is  the big chief at the Pieroway Rod Company.  Pieroway produce an extensive line up of fly rods featuring innovative designs utilizing the latest in carbon fibre technology. A big part of Pieroways’ success is the international team of experts that collaborate with Geoff to produce superior fishing tools.
