An experience to daydream about

December 18, 2015

From Denmark

"Fishing is fun because of the balance between challenge and reward, while the experience can be taken to a higher level by the beauty of the surroundings, knowledgeable and helpful guides, an atmospheric and luxurious lodge, delicious food and not least, friendly and welcoming hosts who make sure that you are spoilt throughout the whole holiday. This description of the ideal fishing trip fits The Salmon Lodge like a glove. From the challenges of fishing in waters containing some of the largest salmon anywhere to the care taken by the lodge staff, memories of The Salmon Lodge have filled my daydreams throughout the cold winter months ever since 2010, when I first had the pleasure of experiencing a week there. Always at an exceptional level, they manage to raise the bar every year."

Second Trip - As wonderful as the first,

December 17, 2015

From Ottawa, ON

"I am still very much a novice at this wonderful sport. The guides at the Salmon Lodge go out of their way to make learning a fun experience not a frustrating one. The scenery, the stillness all add to the charm of fly-fishing. I am looking forward to my third trip in 2016!"

You want to go!

December 16, 2015

From New Hampshire, USA

"I have been going to the Salmon Lodge for several years now. Just when you think that they can't top last year's experience they do! The guides are all top shelf, the food and lodge staff is amazing. You will catch fish most likely (it is Atlantic Salmon fishing after all). But you will have a great time and you won't want to leave."

Best Retreat

December 15, 2015

From Salt Lake City, UT, USA

"This year was my forth year going to the Salmon Lodge. It is the type of trip you think about all year, guides are great, food is incredible, the lodge is very quaint and comfortable and you will have the chance to catch a huge Atlantic Salmon on a fly rod. When it comes to fishing it really does not get any better. Looking forward to hooking a 40lb in September 2016."

Addictive stuff.......!

December 13, 2015

From Denmark

"I’m trying to find something or somewhere to compare a fishing trip to The Salmon Lodge to. I find this very hard because once you’ve been to The Salmon Lodge, you do not feel like going anywhere else. You simply keep coming back, as it feels like your home away from home. I´m serious.
The staff, the management and the guides are second to none.
The lodge itself is gorgeous, and the view...well you’ll have to come see for yourself.
Our trip in august 2015 was especially memorable as mother nature provided us with near perfect conditions in all aspects. This combined with a five-star experience back at the lodge sure makes the current Scandinavian winter feel endless...Let the season begin!"

The Sweet Spot, Salmon Lodge

December 13, 2015

Fom Pennington, NJ 08534, USA

"My wife and I have been guests at The Salmon Lodge for five years in a row. We go for four days, and we keep returning because of the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and for the excellent (albeit challenging) fishing. The staff, including guides, works hard at making you feel at home and is very accommodating to your needs. I like that the number of guests is limited to ten, housed in a charming, refurbished former private lodge built many years ago, with a spacious porch commanding a sweeping view of the Grand Cascapedia.

The meals (breakfast and dinner — lunch is a picnic on the river) are excellent. The food is simple, not overly fancy. I've been to other lodges that tout their cuisine and four-star chefs, an experience I can get in Manhattan and don't need on a salmon river. For me anyway, dining and accommodations at The Salmon Lodge hit the "sweet spot" between rusticity and sophistication.

There's a nice variety to the fishing, and over the course of a visit you can expect to fish both the Grand and Petit Cascapedia and the Bonaventure, each with its special charm and character. Like Atlantic salmon fishing throughout the Maritimes, it isn't easy fishing, with hookups probably averaging one every other day. But the ratio of salmon to grilse is high, maybe 5 to 1, and the chances of getting into a 20-plus-pounder are good."

In a word....Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious!,

December 11, 2015

From Escondido, CA, USA

"Go there!
Over the years, my fishing buddies and I have traveled the world and stayed at many lodges. The Salmon Lodge is among the very best!
The lodge is full of history, loaded with charm and sits on a bluff that provides a stunning river view. Their attention to detail sets them apart. Then, the realization of all the notable people who have fished their rivers is, by itself, awe inspiring. I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience as much as I have on each of several trips."

First class experience!

December 10, 2015

From Banchory, UK

"All the staff at Salmon Lodge do their very best to make your stay a memorable one.
Their helpfulness, courtesy and local knowledge are great. The guides are real pros, very friendly but professional.
I thoroughly recommend Salmon Lodge, and the clarity of the Bonny is something very special. And if you have never caught a salmon on dry fly give this place a go."

In the Grand Old Style

December 10, 2015

From San Francisco, CA, USA

"I host trips on the world's best waters for steelhead, salmon, sea trout and char. The experience at Salmon Lodge and on the Grand Cascapedia is as good as it gets! The river is an angler's dream, the fish are famously large, the setting is picturesque, the lodge is perfectly appointed, the hospitality is superb. If it's your passion to swing flies — or toss a dry — for big sea-run fish, add this destination to your must-do list!"
