A true 5-star Fishing Lodge. - 12/13/2014

I am working in the travel industry and I have a chance to travel quite a bit for my job. My son and I had the luck to fish some of the hotspots in the Caribbean, Central and South America, Western Canada and USA, Florida, etc. We visited The Salmon Lodge last summer. Based on this, I can establish some comparisons and in all retrospect I must admit that the Salmon Lodge is hard to beat in terms of professionalism, service, food, lodging, etc. Upon arrival, you feel that the manager, staff and guides have one goal in mind: Please their guests and making sure that they provide you a memorable experience. The differences are in the details and you will get and experience plenty of those to convince you that you have picked the right place. Did I mention fishing as yet? Well, I had what I consider a lucky day on the Grand Cascapedia: A triple hit (landed). I started the day with 2 nice grilses and finally hook a 25-pounder salmon on a wet fly. Which fly? The guide knows the secret. In fact, the guides at the Salmon Lodge know their stuff very well. They will put onto some fishes with the right flies based on the conditions, the rest is up to you…but the guides are more than willing to help you out with your technic. We were also lucky on the crystal Bonaventure River, a dream come true for avid dry fly fishing addict. Overall, my son probably did better than me after our 4 days there, but I do not remember very well so we will have to go back!
