I had the opportunity to stay at the Salmon Lodge from June 30th to July 4th, 2013. Upon arriving at the lodge, the Operations Manager greeted our party in the parking area. We were introduced to the camp manager and given a tour of the lodge and then shown to our rooms. The exterior of the lodge is well groomed and inviting; while the interior of the lodge is clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and clean with your own bathroom.
The guides that we were assigned to were well equipped, knowledgeable and eager to for guests to have a successful day on the water. We experienced much success during our first two days of fishing, but the conditions deteriorated on the last day with hot air and water temperatures; that is when our guide doubled his efforts by changing tactics to ensure that we landed a fish. While it is easy to offer praise when the fishing is good, I believe that a true measure of a good guide is how they perform during difficult conditions and that is where the guides at the Salmon Lodge shine.
This is my second stay at the Salmon Lodge and I am impressed with the quality of the product they offer. The world class staff, facilities, food, scenery and fishing provided me with the best fishing experience I have had in my 30 years of Atlantic salmon fishing.
